Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
2½ teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch pan or two 9-inch round pans.
Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
Stir in vanilla extract until fully combined (don’t overmix).
Pour batter evenly into prepared pan(s).
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool completely before frosting, glazing, or serving.
